Glasstec 21.10.-25.10.2008

An environmentally integrated, first class office and residential development unlike any other. Whilst within close proximity to the central business district and the IFSC as well as neighboring an exclusive golf course, Elm Park enables working in a parkland of about 14.5 acres in Dublin 4, the most prestigious residential area in the city.

The infrastructure includes apartments, a helipad, conference rooms, a restaurant, fitness areas with an indoor swimming pool, a hotel, a hospital, three office buildings, free-standing glass roofs for outdoor events, underground garages,… and is equipped with state-of-the-art information technology.

These buildings have been designed to utilise optimal, natural air ventilation as well as the natural warmth of the sun. A resourceful combination of outer and inner timber elements, architectonic steel structures, aluminum profiles and highly transparent glazing points in the direction of a new space culture.

Highlights are:

  • A large glass atrium with free-hanging wooden bridges and steps as well as mature trees and plants
  • Atria with glass façades allow interior gardens to grow within the building.
  • A sustainable climate control using double skin façades; natural air ventilation between the two façades enables climate control in the offices even without air conditioning
  • Two free-standing glass roofs with a three dimensional steel-wood supporting frame
  • An indoor swimming pool with a grass roof as well as an optically and technically complex glass façade

This project is being managed by Seele Austria.
